Sparks
Sparks – our review at a glance
Sparks is a slot machine that reminds us a lot of Starburst . It's a fairly simple slot with no particularly clear theme – it's all about lining up sparks and other symbols in a colorful setting.
Just like in Starburst, there is an opportunity to play with paylines that run both ways. There is no abundance of special features, but Sparks basically relies on a single bonus feature, which we will describe in more detail further down in this review.
In the end, Sparks is a clearly stable slot machine that, unfortunately, does not add much new. Do you like uncomplicated video slots like the aforementioned Starburst or Lights we definitely think you should give Sparks a chance, but at the same time we would have liked to see a little more innovation.
Special Feature: Expanding Cloning Wilds
The only real special feature in Sparks is the expanding Cloning Wilds, which only appear on reels 2 and 4. When you land such a symbol, there is a chance that the symbol will expand upwards, downwards or in both directions (so that an entire reel can potentially be covered by wilds).
In addition, it” clones " the symbols on each side, which means that an Expanding Cloning Wild is always surrounded by the same symbols on the right and left. In other words, the chances of winning are really good when this feature is activated, not least if you run with winnings in both directions.
In the end, this is a nice feature that, however, does not really satisfy our craving for raffling special wins.
Win both ways
In Sparks, you can choose whether you want to play with paylines that run only from left and right or both ways. If you play with winnings in only one direction, the theoretical Payback is marginally higher, but the difference is basically negligible (0.02%), so choose the option you think is the most fun.
5 reels, 3 rows and 20-40 paylines
Moderna slot machine the game has the same layout as most modern slot machines. Sparks thus uses 5 reels and 3 rows, which means that at any given time there are 15 symbols on the game screen.
Technically, the number of paylines is 20, but if you play with wins in both directions, the number of paylines in practice will be 40.
The paylines are fixed, which means that you cannot play on less than 20/40 paylines per spin.

Special symbols of Sparks
Expanding Cloning Wilds
This feature we have already described in detail higher up on the page. A quick repetition: wild symbols on reels 2 and 4 can expand, and also clone surrounding symbols so that the symbols on the left and right sides become identical.
Wild symbol
Wild symbols that land on reels 1, 3 or 5 are not expanding Cloning Wilds, but rather regular wild symbols. In other words, they can substitute for any other symbol, helping you complete winning combinations.
Summary
Apparently, Sparks is a fairly simple slot machine, with a lot of$etching$ing the only special feature Expanding Cloning Wilds. We have no problem with simple slots, and if you like games like Starburst, Lights and Flowers, we definitely think you should give the game a couple of spins.
That said, We can't get away from the fact that Sparks isn't immediately overflowing with innovation and exciting ideas. It feels a bit like a routine slot from NetEnt. As NetEnt is very high class, it should be said that Sparks is still better than a lot of other slot machines out there – but to come from one of the leading developers, the product ultimately feels a bit awkward. This applies not only to the gameplay, but also to the slightly uninspired graphics.
With this big bang in mind, however, Sparks is a clearly competent slot machine, which is perhaps primarily aimed at those who do not have much experience with video slots and want to get started with an easy-to-understand game with decent winning opportunities.
