Tower Quest

Do you like fantasy? Then you've come just right. Tower Quest is one of the most interesting fantasy-themed slots we've seen in a long time. We're talking a really well-polished gaming experience that feels like a mix between the Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering. In other words, a pretty high nerd warning – just as it should be when it comes to fantasy. Here we find elves, dragons, orcs, undead Kings, mysterious elixirs and of course a really evil wizard like$onan at verket. Play'N GO shows once again that they have a keen eye on how to build an appealing and exciting slot machine.

Graphics and sound

On the graphics front, there is really nothing to comment on at all. It is a stylish, hand-painted style that could just as easily have been concept art for a highly polished computer game. With wins and special features, there are a lot of delicious animations, and the color scales are exactly where they should be – just right dark and gloomy, while colorful magic elements put extra grunt on the whole thing.

The sound is also that good, albeit not as striking. The background music is subtle, but sets a nice tone with its low-key orchestral sounds. In the case of winnings and the like, however, things happen, with fanfares and percussion that make the winnings feel a little extra fun. Plus the edge for really nice special effects, such as the satisfying plopping sound when you get elixir-filled bottles on the reels.

Arrangements and interventions

Basically, Tower Quest follows the normal video slot setup with 5 reels and 3 rows. The game has 20 fixed bet lines, which means that it is not possible to play on fewer than that. But of course it is still possible to set the BET in other ways. You can choose to play with between 1 and 5 coins per bet line, as well as decide what value these coins should have (between 10 cents and 10 dollar). The total bet per spin can thus be anywhere between 2 and 1000 dollar. Just keep in mind that your elixir gauges (more on these below) will drain if you change bet.

The paylines run from left to right, and it is in that order that you should line up matching symbols to win. Three or more of one and the same symbol$is even for profit.

Wins

Tower Quest offers a lot of different ways to win big. However, it is through the game's special features that you can pinch the really big money. Among the symbols of the game, it is the wilds that can lead to the greatest winnings on their own: 5 wild symbols along a bet line give 750 times the line bet. Among the regular symbols of the game, it is the Elf Man and the elf woman who can bring the biggest winnings. As the game is so packed with special features, we have a bit of a hard time calculating the exact top prize, but it's about at least$500,000 onor.

Play'N GO usually makes games with generous theoretical payback, and here the RTP is 96.24% which is more than approved.

Symbols and functions

Wild symbols
The Wild symbol in the game is the tower that gave the slot its name. Wilds are always stacked in Tower Quest, which means they take up 3 symbol slots and thus can cover an entire reel at a time. Wilds substitute for all symbols except scatter and bonus symbols.

Scatter symbols
Tower Quest has really innovative and interesting scatter symbols. They are represented by bottles filled with elixir, and are available in two designs: blue and red. Each time you get a scatter, the cork of the bottle opens, and the elixir is added to a meter next to the reels. The gauge on the left is blue, and the gauge on the right is red. Once you have collected enough scatters, you can then choose between different special features. For Red scatters it is important to collect 10, 20 or 30 pieces, while you need 5, 10 or 15 of the blue ones. The more ice in your belly and the more scatters you collect, the more powerful features you can activate. For example, if you collect 15 Blue scatters, you get 1 free spin where reels 1, 3 and 5 are wild.

Bonus games
The key to the game's integrated bonus round is the evil wizard symbol. If you get 3 of these, the bonus game is activated. Have you played Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone, you know what to expect: a card game where you play out cards with different strengths and weaknesses in the hope of emerging victorious from the battle. Here you can win 500 times the bet, or up to$500,000 onor.

Summary

If you like fantasy and slots, there is nothing to talk about: you should definitely play Tower Quest from Play'n go. This is one of the better looking slot machines we've seen, and we've basically never seen a more appealing fantasy slot. The theme, graphics, sound and features work together in a superb way to make this a perfect gaming experience for the more geeky casino player with a penchant for really well executed fantasy.
