Functions

The bonus features in Planet of the Apes are split for each half of the game, one for Rise which is the bright side and Dawn which is the dark one on the right. Both sides each have a bonus feature and free spins round, but they don't work the same way;

Free Spins

When 3 or more scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels activates rise Free Spins, provided that it takes place on the bright half of the game. During this game round, only the bright half of the game is rolled. During Rise free spins, every Wild that lands on the reels is also collected in a Wild meter on the screen. For every Wild that lands on the reels, the meter increases by 1.

Before the last spin has come to a stop, all collected Wilds are placed on random positions on the reels and the points are tallied.

Free Spins

As in Rise free spins, there are 3 Scatters on The Dark Half of the game that activate the Dawn free spins. When this feature is triggered, there are 3 different symbols that each have a meter; multiplier, extra Wilds and Extra free spins.

When such a symbol lands in the game, it fills its respective meter with 1. Each meter needs to be filled with 3 symbols to activate its function. If Extra free spins are activated, you get 3 free spins.

You start Dawn free spins with multiplier 1. The multiplier increases by 1 each time the multiplier meter is filled until it reaches x5. The activated multiplier / Wild symbol will light up on the screen.

The extra Wilds meter turns a human symbol into an extra joker every time it fills up with 3 symbols.

Rise Bonus Feature

If this bonus symbol lands on the 1st reel, the bonus round for The Rise side is triggered. This is an extra coin win that$is edited for every human or monkey on the screen, except for the Scatter symbol. This is only activated on the bright part of the slot.

Dawn Bonus Feature

This bonus round is activated on the darker half of the game when a dawn bonus symbol lands on the last reel. The Dawn feature turns people and monkeys on the reels into the same symbols. Also, in this bonus feature, the scatter cannot be converted into anything else.

Duel function

Before each spin, there is a chance that the duel feature will be triggered. If this happens, then a symbol is selected that will represent the light half of the game, and one for the dark one. The same symbol cannot represent both sides and Scatters / Wild symbols cannot be selected either.

During this game round, no other symbols will appear on the reels. They remain black while the two selected symbols are the only ones visible. If a symbol lands on its own half when the wheel stops, it gets stuck. Should a symbol land in the opposite half of the game, it moves to the right side and occupies the same position. This is provided that the said position on the right side is not already filled.

The duel feature continues until there are no symbols left on the reels and cannot be activated together with the remaining bonus features.

Symbols
