CasinoList editorial team Updated:

CasinoList.co.nz compares online casinos that accept players from New Zealand. This page explains what our reviews, bonus tables and guides can be relied on for — and where their limits are — so that nothing on the site is read as more than it is. It applies to every page of the site, including reviews, bonus pages, payment guides, news and the legal section.

An information site, not a casino

CasinoList does not run games, hold player funds, accept deposits or take bets of any kind. There are no player accounts here and no way to gamble through this site. When you follow a link from one of our pages to a casino, you leave CasinoList.co.nz and deal with that operator alone: the account, the bonus, the deposit and any withdrawal are matters between you and the operator, under its own terms and its own licence.

The editorial team does not open player accounts and does not play at the casinos it lists. Reviews are written from documents — the licence register entry, the general terms, the separate bonus terms, the cashier page and the game lobby — and they say so. A payout time or a support promise on a review is what the operator states, not something we have measured.

Where New Zealand law stands

The Online Casino Gambling Act 2026 has been in force since 1 May 2026. Under it the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) is licensing online casino operators for New Zealand, with no more than 15 licences and the first of them taking effect on 1 December 2026. Until then no online casino holds a New Zealand licence, and every operator mentioned on this site is based offshore and licensed, where it is licensed at all, by an overseas authority.

Section 16 of the Gambling Act 2003 restricts the advertising of overseas gambling in New Zealand. Our pages are written as information and comparison for readers who are already looking at these sites; none of them is an invitation to gamble, and none should be read as one. The rules are changing through 2026 and 2027, and the law page on this site is updated when they do — but it is a plain-language summary, not legal advice. Whether a particular operator may lawfully take your play is for you to check before you sign up.

Age

Online casino play in New Zealand is for adults aged 18 and over. Casino venues keep their own minimum of 20 under the Gambling Act 2003. CasinoList.co.nz is intended only for readers aged 18 or older, and nothing on it is addressed to anyone younger. Operators verify age and identity themselves, usually before the first withdrawal.

Bonuses, figures and dates

Bonus amounts, free spins, wagering multipliers, maximum bets, expiry windows, deposit and withdrawal limits and payout times are copied from the operator’s own published terms on the date shown on the page. Offers in New Zealand dollars are quoted as the operator states them; where a casino quotes another currency, the NZ$ figure is only a guide.

Operators change these terms often and without telling us. A page can therefore be accurate on the day it was checked and out of date a week later. The terms on the operator’s own site at the moment you sign up are the only ones that bind you — read them, and the bonus terms in particular, before you deposit. If you find a figure here that no longer matches, please tell us and we will correct the page.

Ratings are an editorial judgement

Scores and table positions follow the published method described on how we review casinos: the licence and the company behind it, withdrawal terms and limits, fees, bonus conditions, payment options and the responsible gambling tools on offer. Applying a method still involves judgement, and two careful readers could weigh the same terms differently. A high score is not a guarantee that a casino will treat you well, pay on time or stay licensed.

Games, RTP and luck

Return-to-player percentages are the figures game providers and casinos publish. They describe what a game pays back over a very large number of rounds, not what will happen in a session, and a casino may run a game at a lower RTP setting than the one the provider advertises. No strategy, bonus or pokie changes the fact that the house keeps an edge. Nothing on this site is a way to make money, and gambling should never be used to pay bills or chase losses.

Payments and tax

Payment methods are listed as the casinos describe them in their cashier pages. Availability, fees and processing times change, and a method can stop working for New Zealand players without notice; your bank or wallet provider may also apply its own blocks and charges.

Gambling winnings of a private player in New Zealand are generally not taxed. That is a general statement, not tax advice; if gambling is part of how you earn a living, ask a tax adviser or Inland Revenue.

Links and commission

Many links to casinos on this site are affiliate links. If you register through one, the operator may pay CasinoList a commission; you pay nothing extra. This is how the site is funded, and it is set out in full on how we make money. Linked sites are run by third parties: we do not control their content, their terms or their handling of your data, and a link is not an endorsement of everything on the page it leads to.

Names and trademarks

Casino names, game titles, provider names and logos belong to their owners. They appear here only to identify the product being reviewed; no owner has approved or sponsored the page they appear on.

If gambling stops being fun

The Gambling Helpline is free, confidential and open 24 hours a day on 0800 654 655 from any New Zealand phone. Most casinos also let you set deposit limits, take a break or exclude yourself — see responsible gambling for how those tools work with an offshore operator.

Limits of our responsibility

We take care over what we publish, but the site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Halcyra Media Labs DMCC and the CasinoList editorial team are not liable for losses arising from reliance on the site, from a decision to gamble, from the actions of an operator, or from a page being unavailable or out of date. Nothing here limits any right you have under New Zealand law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
